Art and Photo Contest Winners
To celebrate Maine’s 200th birthday, we held a “Maine Through Our Eyes” art and photography contest. This contest gave participants an opportunity to show various aspects of Maine life through their art and photography. We purposely chose an open-ended theme so participants had the freedom to create unique and personal entries. We recognized winners in 4 different age groups - under 7, 8-12, teen, and adult. Below are our contest winners, as well as a gallery of all of the submissions.
Winner - Parker C.

“I like to play in the water and I enjoy nature. This is my Maine.”
Winners - Maya and Ava S.
“Maybe you will go for an adventurous paddle, see the sunset and listen to the loons calling softly. This is a magical moment in Maine! For us, this is what we love about Maine the most.”
Winner - Grace V.

“This lighthouse shows what Maine is all about to me. Imagine the rocky Maine coast and the smell and sounds of the ocean when you see this beautiful sight.”
The winning entries have been turned into note cards. Note cards are available at the library for a donation of any amount. You can make your own set or just pick out your favorite!
