Jeannette Bahre Art on Display
Our current artist on display, Jeannette Bahre, has been painting in the Maine area for several years. She has exhibited her art in the Kennebunk area, as well as at the D.A. Hurd Library in North Berwick. She counts local artists Dennis Poirier and Carter Wentworth among her inspirations. Ms. Bahre uses a variety of mediums in her artwork, including acrylics and collage. Some of her favorite subjects include the New England landscape, sky, water, and flowers. She has also been inspired by children’s literature.
Ms. Bahre has taken some art instruction from Dennis Poirier but is primarily self-taught. Additionally, she has a bachelor’s degree in English Education and a master’s in Education. In the past, she has worked as a librarian, children’s librarian, and teacher and writing instructor at many levels, including at colleges and universities.
Jeannette Bahre’s artwork will be on display at the Berwick Public Library throughout the months of November and December. Artwork on display may be purchased through arrangements with the artist.
