Author Talk and Book Signing with Ross Bachelder

The Berwick Public Library will host a book talk and signing for Berwick writer Ross Alan Bachelder, author of Happy Dawg Walks the Sad Man: The Remarkably Varied Adventures of a Confirmed Arts Multiple, on Tuesday, November 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Refreshments will be served, and the public is invited and urged to attend.

Arts multiple Ross Alan Bachelder, a Michigan native, has been active as a writer, artist, and musician since moving to the Seacoast New Hampshire / Southern Maine region more than 40 years ago.

As a writer he’s published essays, magazine articles, and poetry. He’s also written, produced, and directed eight musical comedy-dramas for young people. Happy Dawg Walks the Sad Man is his first book.

As an artist he’s exhibited his drawings, paintings, found object assemblages, and photographs in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts over the past two decades. He was the founder and coordinator of the KAA Seacoast Moderns, an interest group of the Kittery, Maine, Artist Association, and the coordinator of AAGNE (the Abstract Artists Group of New England), an interest group of the Newburyport Art Association.

As a musician he’s performed solo recitals, played extensively in the theatre pit orchestras, and appeared at art exhibit openings and many other special events as The Flute Guy. He’s also spent many years in the theatre as a producer, company manager, arts marketer and publicist, and bit part actor.

Bachelder travels frequently to perform as a musician, paint and photograph what he sees, then write and speak publicly about his deep, long-time immersion in the Arts. He’s toured galleries in England, Scotland, and Canada, and in many American cities including Philadelphia, Boston, Cincinnati, New York, and Indianapolis. In 2011 he traveled to New Zealand to perform in the Opening Night Ceremony for New Zealand artist Susan Harrison-Tustain.

Bachelder’s book, Happy Dawg Walks The Sad Man, is available on Amazon and at several area bookstores and other establishments. He’s now working on his second book, Weird Anomalies: Tales Best Read in the Twilight Hours, scheduled for publication in 2018.

Berwick Public Library is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm, and Fridays and Saturdays from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. For information about Ross Alan Bachelder’s Book Talk and Signing,
