Ruth Bleau's Artwork on Display at BPL

The paintings of Ruth Ann Bleau are on display on the walls of the Bewick Public Library through February.

During a life when Ruth has been a Peace Corps volunteer, a waitress, Head Start Aid, a US Postal Service letter carrier, and when earning a BA in English from the University of Massachusetts, she has had an underlying passion for art.

She has always loved to draw and has taken courses at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA and the Peabody Essex Museum.

Her large, colorful paintings are of landscapes, animals and flowers. She paints very quickly and intensely for two or three hours and then studies the painting for a few days, adjusting the color, contrast, intensities and patterns.

Ruth is one of the five owner-artists of the Vibes Art Gallery in Somersworth.

All are encouraged to stop by the library to see Ruth's artwork. The library's hours are Tuesday and Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
