Wednesday, March 29th at 6pm - Panel discussion with the Berwick Police about the heroin/opioid epidemic
Please join us for this special town hall style meeting with the Berwick Police Department about the heroin and opioid epidemic. They will be discussing their multi-state cooperative efforts and collaboration with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency to combat this epidemic in our community.
Tuesday, April 11th at 6pm - Special presentation by living historian Jack Ciotti
Jack Ciotti is an award-winning living historian who will be joining us for a special presentation about the life of British soldiers during the Revolutionary War. He will describe the clothing and weapons of the day, the living and social conditions, dietary habits, as well as the medical and dental procedures. The presentation is peppered with “fun facts” which will not be easily forgotten.
Saturday, April 22nd at 10:30am - Center for Wildlife presentation
How does a bat find thousands of tiny mosquitoes in the dark? Why would a bear choose to lumber around at night? How does a porcupine defend himself against a predator? Using live animals and hands-on materials, the Center for Wildlife will answer these questions and teach us how nocturnal mammals utilize all of their senses to find food and shelter at night. The live animals will also demonstrate some of the unique adaptations these animals have.
Saturday, May 6th - Handmade afghan raffle drawing
The beautiful afghan was made by a member of the knitting group that meets at the library each week. It would make a great gift for Mother's Day! Tickets are available at the circulation desk for $2 each or 3 for $5.
Believe it or not, it's almost time for our summer reading program! This year's theme is Build a Better World and we have a lot of great things planned! Stay tuned for more information!
