Our current artist on display at the library is Roger Morin.
Roger, a watercolor artist, has lived almost all of his life in Southern Maine, spending his childhood on a small farm, and later years on the coast in Portland. He has a deep love of New England and truly appreciates the natural beauty of all of the seasons.
He enjoys traveling, whether it’s in New England or abroad and especially loves experiencing the places that have inspired artists for centuries. Monhegan Island, a famous retreat for many artists, is one of Roger’s favorite places to visit in Maine. The cities of Europe, the desert of Morocco, Mayan ruins in Guatemala, and the connection with the natural world in Tanzania and the Galápagos Islands have all brought motivation and focus to Roger’s work.
Roger lives in a 200 year-old school house with a studio overlooking the Great Works River in South Berwick, Maine. The studio is open by appointment for visitors.
There will be a special reception for Roger at the library on Wednesday, May 29th at 6pm. All are welcome! Come meet the artist and view his work. Roger's art will remain on display until the end of June.
