We're Growing Together this summer and celebrating our community!

Program Overview

The Growing Together summer reading program runs for
7 weeks from Friday, June 23rd through Friday, August 11th. This program is open to all ages! Over the course of the summer, we'll have lots of special programs and activities happening at the library - be sure to stop by each week to see what's new!

No registration is required, and you are welcome to start participating at any point throughout the duration of the program. To get started, stop by the library to pick up a summer reading packet, or click on the box below to download a copy.

How the Summer Reading Program Works

We like to keep our summer reading program pretty simple - just read books and complete fun activities from a list we've created. For every book you read or activity you complete, you'll earn one ticket that you can enter for a chance to win the prize of your choice.

How much you want to participate is up to you. You can keep things low-key and just read books of your choosing all summer, or you can challenge yourself to complete the activities and reading challenges we provide.

Prizes

We'll be giving away lots of prizes at the end of this year's summer reading program! You can see all of this year's prizes by visiting our prize page HERE.

Winners will be announced on Saturday, August 12th.

Community Activities

In addition to a full calendar of special events, we have lots of fun activities happening at the library all summer long!

Throughout our summer reading program we'll be working together to create a sticker mosaic. Each time you visit the library, you'll receive a sticker to add to our mosaic. The image we're creating will reveal itself over the course of the summer.

Do you enjoy puzzles? Join us this summer as we try to solve the Case of Berwick's Missing Bees! Each week we'll have a new puzzle available. Each puzzle will reveal a code word that will lead you to the culprit. Learn more about our bee mystery HERE.

We want to say a huge thank you to Jetpack Comics in Rochester for generously donating comics and gift certificates for this year's summer reading program!

Calendar of Events

We're so excited about the great things we've got planned this summer - we hope you'll be part of the fun!

Performance by UNH's Little Red Wagon

Friday, June 30th at 10:30am

UNH's children's theatre group Little Red Wagon will be visiting the library to perform their show Molly McFolly and the
Littlest
Leprechaun
.

Molly McFolly tends to act before she thinks. She also often thinks she knows more than she does. This leads to a series of follies including  the folly caused by a bit of stereotyping (as it turns out, about Leprechauns).

Featuring Celtic Music and puppets, this show is about learning lessons the hard way and making unlikely friends.

Magician Phil Smith
Friday, July 7th at 10:30am

Join us at the library for a special performance by master magician, illusionist, and comedian Phil Smith.

Maker Day
Tuesday, July 11th from 10am to 2pm

Drop by anytime during our 6th annual Maker Day event to try some fun hands-on STEM activities. The Shipyard will be here with their submersibles and robotics. We'll also have some art and textile activities happening, including paper art, yarn spinning, and fairy house building.
